Privacy Policy
Your privacy and data security are the foundational principles of JSON Empire. Read how we handle client-side data, analytics, and advertising compliance.
🛡️ The JSON Empire Zero-Data Guarantee
We do NOT store, transmit, log, or inspect your JSON data. All data transformations, schema validations, code generation algorithms, formatting, and file conversions occur 100% locally inside your browser runtime. No JSON payload entered into our tools ever leaves your device.
1. Introduction & Overview
JSON Empire ("we", "our", or "us") operates the website located at https://jsonempire.com/ (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you visit our website, as well as the choices you have associated with that data.
By using JSON Empire, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our services.
2. 100% Client-Side Data Processing
Unlike conventional web utilities that transmit your proprietary payload to remote servers for server-side processing, JSON Empire utilizes modern client-side JavaScript (V8 Engine, Web Workers, and Web Assembly). When you paste JSON, XML, YAML, CSV, Protobuf, or any other data format into our tools:
- The data is processed solely in your device's local Random Access Memory (RAM).
- Zero HTTP
POST,PUT, orGETrequests containing your payload are sent to our backend servers. - When you close or refresh the browser tab, your data is completely discarded from volatile browser memory.
- Your API keys, JWT authorization headers, medical records, financial payloads, and confidential customer databases remain completely secure and air-gapped on your computer.
3. Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising
To maintain JSON Empire as a 100% free suite of developer utilities, we monetize our platform using third-party advertising services, primarily Google AdSense.
Please review the following essential disclosures regarding Google AdSense:
- Third-Party Cookies: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our website or other websites on the Internet.
- Advertising Cookies (DART Cookie): Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to JSON Empire and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Personalized Advertising Opt-Out: Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Google Ad Settings.
- Industry Opt-Out Portals: Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) Consumer Choice Page or the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) Opt-Out Page.
4. Cookies & Local Browser Storage
Cookies are small files placed on your device. We and our third-party service providers use cookies and similar technologies (such as HTML5 LocalStorage) for the following purposes:
- Essential Preferences (LocalStorage): We store your preferred theme setting (
json_empire_theme: "dark" | "light") in your browser's LocalStorage to maintain a seamless user experience across pages. This contains zero personally identifiable information (PII). - Advertising Cookies: Used by Google AdSense to serve relevant ads, limit ad frequency, and measure ad effectiveness.
- Analytics & Performance: Used to understand site traffic trends and identify performance bottlenecks across our 50 developer tools.
5. Server Log Files
Like most standard web hosting environments, our hosting infrastructure automatically logs standard web request details. These log files may include:
- Internet Protocol (IP) addresses (anonymized where required by law)
- Browser type, operating system, and device category
- Internet Service Provider (ISP)
- Referring and exit pages, date/time stamps, and pages visited
Log data is used exclusively to administer the site, prevent denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, ensure network security, and diagnose server latency. Log data is never linked to individual user payloads.
6. User Feedback & Communication Data
When you choose to submit a tool request, bug report, or feature suggestion through our Community Feedback Form:
- We collect the information you voluntarily provide (Category, Title, Description, Your Name, and Optional Email).
- This data is stored securely in our Firebase Firestore database to enable our engineering team to review and resolve developer requests.
- We will never sell, rent, or lease your email address or feedback information to third-party marketers.
7. GDPR Compliance (European Economic Area)
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have specific data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). JSON Empire aims to take reasonable steps to allow you to correct, amend, delete, or limit the use of your Personal Data:
